If you want to fish in one of the isolated regions, you must be willing to trek. Tamur and Koshi offer a wonderful opportunity for Anglers who are willing to trek in the pristine rivers. Tamur River is considered one of the best due to its superb views of the Himalayan range including Mt Everest, Mt. Kanchenjunga and Mt Makalu and Tamur River itself is a beautiful river that is formed from the snows of Mt. Kanchenjunga, the third tallest mountain in the world. The scenery is breath taking however Golden Mahseers in this river are numerous due to undisturbed environment.
Koshi drains the northern slopes of the Himalayas in the Tibet Autonomous Region and the southern slopes in Nepal. From a major confluence of tributaries north of the Chatra Gorge onwards, the Koshi River is also known as Saptakoshi (Nepali: सप्तकोशी, saptakoshī) for its seven upper tributaries. These include the Tamur Koshi originating from the Kanchenjunga area in the east, Arun River and Sun Koshi from Tibet. The Sun Koshi’s tributaries from east to west are Dudh Koshi, Bhote Koshi, Tamba Koshi and Indravati Koshi. The Saptakoshi crosses into northern Bihar where it branches into distributaries before joining the Ganges near Kursela in Katihar district.
